Textiles and Knitted
These textiles are made in Cajamarca, which is a region in Peru and is located in the north eastern part of this country. Here, it is an ancient tradition to make textiles. We can provide a large variety of designs and colors as well as produce the designs that our costumers request.
We have the warping which is little wooden tables and sticks where the thread is distributed depending on the product being made, afterwards the thread is placed in little wooden sticks and it is tied to a tree, this then holds the women with a “siquicha” which is made of rope, and that way they start weaving, strand by strand of the thread. The women that work are usually from the field, who apart from weaving have to attend their children and take care of their little animals.
It is normal to observe women in rural and u rban areas who work in their enormous textiles by spreading them from the top of the trees or the eaves of their houses to their waist carrying up to 15 kilograms of woven. These textiles have a great quality and meet current market trends.
These products are made of pima mercerized cotton and finished with a crochet or knots technique.
You can find in this store different types of textiles such as shawls and table runners
